Information

Roach is an elegant stone with subtle greyish-buff mid-tones often featuring a distinctive black shell. This limestone teems with fossil shells that are fairly evenly distributed across the surface. Similar to Thornback which is slightly more yellow in tone, this stone has a balanced, harmonious appearance.

Along with Downsvein, this is one of the two Purbeck beds most productive of roof tile. Also makes excellent- and very beautiful- paving.
