Purbeck stone makes excellent exterior paving. It has traditionally been supplied in a mix of coursed widths by random lengths for both internal and external projects. As the stone naturally occurs in irregular shapes and sizes, Choosing a coursed width and random length format allows for the most efficient and therefore cost-effective use of each block. Coursed widths are usually 250, 325 and 400mm in the majority of beds; some beds will make up to 500mm wide, in which case widths at 250, 350 and 450mm or 300, 400 and 500mm may be an option. Lengths are usually not less than square and up to twice the width, however some beds will make longer tiles.
